Leather leggings and leather shorts with a sober tuxedo jacket and white shirt. Where was that outfit when I went dancing at Mr Black's last Saturday ? Maybe if I had a better imagination when it came to clothes I would have thought up that one. But I don't (have an audacious imagination when it comes to clothes). Which is what makes designers, strong designers with a resolved point of view necessary.

My first reaction to Raf Simon's collection for Jil Sander SS 09 was that of a fashion philistine, on the order of... "Who wants to ever wear a color blocked jacket? Especially one in yellow and PINK". Even the safe pieces, like the black perforated jackets felt tricky with their melange of zippers punctuated with circles, triangles and squares. As in really, really geometric. Like the color-blocking. Geometric. Techno. Like the soundtrack. ZZZZZZZZZ.

TI LOVES what the kids at U Mag are giving on the visual tip. Its post-Jamie Reid's ransom graphics (Think Sex Pistol) meets iD magazine's signature fonts , familiar but...within the times. Thanks Fabien of the audacious frillr.com for the tip off!

Sony's new Net sharing camera

My pals over at frillr are the ones who turned me on to the joys of Net sharing cams, digital video-cameras that allow for easy uploads onto social networking sites like youtube. Though I don't pretend to know all the technical virtues of this sucker, thanks to that frillr tip, TI is loving Sony's new entry in the market. I used to stumble about town with a Flip (which I still love for its strange "Star Wars" design curves). But the geometric simplicity and glossy black sexy of this new toy just might get the $150 bucks required. Its veeeeery hommestar no?

I love DJ-ing in Jamaica. I think DJ-ing was invented here (lol). The placed is drenched in beats and bass at every turn. I was at a party tonight and got in trouble for playing Peaches " I U She". If you know the sentiment to that song you would know it was a direct provocation . That said cruised through frillr.com for my daily digest of all the SS08 ads that are dropping now in all the glossies. To my delight I bumped into MIA posing for Marc by Marc . Yay Marc! He made us happy by venerating the goddess. MIA was the very first post in TI back in August, and in that upload we prayed for the sight of our London lady laying down some ruling imagery as a latter day fashion icon. Dreams do come true! For instance, I was away all weekend and didn't catch WWD's previews of the Mert n Marcus LV SS08 ads. And look!
