TI wants to enormously thank Neal Hamil at Elite for turning us on to the very excellent Sunset Beach Hotel on Shelter Island. If you hate the Hamptons but need the escape (and boy was this a weekend that made escape necessary) the Sunset Beach is a brilliant reprieve. Created (and impeccably curated) by Andre Balazs, this laid back Long Island destination features only 20 guest rooms, all with sun decks and a stunning bay view, as well as an excellent restaraunt . A whip smart staff, an unpretentious, laid back vibe and the best use of a white and yellow striped awning since Giorgio's Beverly Hills, TI was turned...so to speak .

Hotel Raphael on Avenue Klebler in Paris will be the official TI/Hiss Squad HQ for this season's shows precisely because it is located between the Grand Palais and Palais de Tokyo. But here are the 10 other reason's why we love it so.

1. There's a real Turner in the lobby.
2. They serve coffee in silver coffeepots. No matter how humble your room.
3. The Bar Anglais is always filled with businessmen in retreat from La Defense, battle weary diplomats and nests of haute-bourgeoise housewives from the neighbourhood hissing away. Fascinating anthropology!
4. Serge Gainsbourg spent a part of that mis-spent youth here. How chic would that seance be!
5. The gym is so quaint, you expect to hear Oliver Newton John's "Let's Get Pysical" boom over the speakers.
6. Wes Anderson shot the prequel to "The Djarling Limited" on the premises. The fictional "Hotel Chevaliar" is every inch Hotel Raphael, right down to the end shot that pans over the lowrise skyline of the neigbouring houses.

Stockholm's Nordic Light Hotel is currently pushing a sampler by The Field titled "Sound Of Light: Nordic Light Hotel". TI had a suspicious eyebrow raised way high until we heard the loop crazy, 15 minute long "Morning" track. Not your typical 4/4 house beat banality and very good for the numbing flourescent modernity of airports, airplanes, automobiles, freeways and hotel rooms which is the story of our life , right this minute. P.S Nordic Light Hotel is a fantastic jump off point for exploring Stockholm's design culture. Consider it the red hot center of the next Stockholm Furniture Fair.
