Japanather will be in the Aquabooty House: Sat Dec 8th: 9pm-5am:The Pawn Shop Lounge
Wow. The Art Basel driven super-convergence of art and fashion and music and money has started already in Miami. Your South Beach chapter of The Hiss Squad is reporting sightings already of Donna Karan and Bruce Weber with equally reliable sources assuring that tonight's private vernissage of the booths will see Brad Pitt mingling amongst the billionaires. In any case the kind folks at Flavorpill asked us to let all the Miami bound TI's out there know that they're joining forces with Aquabooty's infamous "Fuck Art, Let's Dance" bash at The Pawn Shop Lounge on Sat the 8th. Dropping it East Coast style will be DJ legend Danny Krivit while on the soulful West Coast tip will be Harvey. Top of the bill for the TI's will be lo-fi art rockers Japanther. But its a full night (9pm to 5am), as the Flavorpill mailer states, there'll also be the Bilingual avant-pop duo Something in Spanish that " fuse elements of exotic lounge, experimental electronic, and free jazz. And Ghostly International's Sam Valenti IV, along with Miami's own DHM and Lust4house, brings in plenty of turntable support. It's all for a great cause, too — a portion of the admission price goes to charity: water to help bring clean water to African countries." Looking forward to sweating it for a good cause.
