This is why you have to love New York. More than any city it grows suspicious of the same-old-same-old, real fast. Ruthless, restless, ever evolving…and always reminding you that difference can be the best fun. Thus last night's victorious "debut" of Spike Jonze's 100 Lost Cotton, that took the frown out of fashion and made it a celebration. Yay #OpeningCeremony.

For the first time since 2007, I'm feeling a sense of exhilaration when scanning the current cultural landscape. I see brilliant new work in fashion, design, music and art. Even better, I'm seeing a new breed of young artists, multi-disciplinary , multimedia and digitally adept , creating this new imagery that is fearless and therefore culturally profound. The leading light for all this right now is this young woman. I'm astonished as to what she does as a musician, director, performance artist and conceptualist. She is the truth.
