Cut Copy

TI's YEAR IN MUSIC (2008)

Well, one good thing happened in 2008. The music was much better than 2007's. So much so that it seemed that anything that was allegedly "underground", " obscure" and "cool" went mass in 2 secs. MIA found love in hip-hop's mainstream, Crystal Castles' beats surfaced on "Gossip Girl" and Mgmt became so huge and so ubiquitous you got confused and thought " Oracular Spectacular " came out 3 years ago. I loved these songs unto madness and my memories of 08 will always be sound tracked by them.

TI LOVES Cut CopyTI LOVES Cut Copy

Yes I am a Cut Copy addict. I live for bands fronted by guys who also graphic design. Yes I downloaded the new long-player. I admit to listening to it all weekend and I love how one track flows into another . I love the flatness of the mix on the vocals and the kind of dead-pan attitude to the production. Perfect background music for the coming burst of parties TI is plotting to throw this Spring. Long live!

PS itunes has "Lights and Music" from the album up on offer as a freebie "Single Of The Week" . TI banged it for you a month ago but it is a good taster for the 15 track album (which is a bargin at $6.99). Give those kids some love.

Listen to the original track from the album and then get into the Cut Copy remix. The CC boys have incredible ears to find the dance beat within this guitar driven track. Ti adores this mix beyond words.
