In constant dialogue with speakers of many creative activities for the last 25 years—art, fashion, music or theatre—, Mathias Augustyniak and Michaël Amzalag have been designing first and foremost signs, developing along the way their own idiosyncratic vocabulary. Some of their past projects have now been transformed into objects, as the result of their ability to re-address their own work, and
through their long courtship between two and three dimensions.

The M/MAISON collection presents a selection of their signs-as-designs, originally developed for Dior Homme over the past four years to appear in fashion images, and now reconfigured as furniture pieces for a potential living unit.

Conforming to their own rule of adding a new piece to each of their exhibitions, M/M have designed the Citronnier ou Laurier (Lemon Tree or Laurel), a modular “illusory object that reflects the world around“ as the centre piece of the gallery installation, bringing a tangible human scale to their M/MAISON.

The collection, available exclusively through PLUSDESIGN, will be shown from April 12 to May 12, 2016.

Pieces from the collection will be visible at the Milan Dior Homme store, via Montenapoleone 14, on the occasion of Milan Design Week, to celebrate M/M ongoing collaboration with Dior Homme creative director, Kris Van Assche.
