Seconds after touching down in NY I realized that it would be very dangerous to live permanently in Paris. I would turn into an alcoholic spendthrift, an overdressed dandy and a relentless nightcrawler! Maybe it was the wealth (pun intended) of all those big money status labels. Perhaps it was because the collision of all those international degenerates looking to blow off steam after a month of trudging through the trenches of NY and Milan . Whatever the case, Paris partied like there was no tomorrow this past fashion week and our Hiss Squad had 5 banging bashes to choose from for the title of "Best Paris Fashion Week Party"
5. The Givenchy After-Party:
It was totally " Day of the Locusts" outside. No-one could get in and no-one could get the PR gods at the the door to flinch.Temper tantrums to the left. The dirtiest words in French your ears will ever hear. The party inside had to be anti-climatic no? We love how Maria Carla can flit between the Givenchy, YSL and Chanel camps with such diplomacy. That girl is full on!
4.Opening Ceremony/Chloe Sevigny at Paris Paris
Tout "Downtown" descended on Paris Paris to create a very New York moment . Did you see all those models making those last minute hook ups?
3.Richard Mortimer and Jefferson Hack at La Perle
Oh the English in Paris! Nobody can put it away like these kids! "Marais" means swamp and that's exactly what this tiny little bar turned into at night's end.
2. NY Models/ Elite NY/Ford Europe/ Trump/ Storm / Marilyn's dinner at Dave's
6 different agencies. One small room. And everyone stepped out into the daylight of the following day alive. Incroyable! Plus Dave told us the best Pharell Williams story ever . As in....stretch limo pulls up. Entourage spills out. Drama, and super-star diamonds abling. At night's end Pharell sweetly comes over and asks if he can have his picture with Dave on the wall. It was all he really wanted the whole night. Awwwwww.
1. Fendi Avenue Montaigne store party
Paris as bourgeoise as it can be, loves an inspired mess and Amy Winehouse up close and personal was the epitome of inspiring. How amazing was that mix of fashion victims, crustie musos, PR peons , fresh faced models and all the au courant hipsters! Karl Lagerfeld takes the cake (without having to eat it)!
