This exhibit, which features the work of 16 contemporary artists, addresses the idea the idea of the manipulated photograph that transcends being a mere record of a reality and becomes a kind of hybrid object, something in between painting, collage, drawing and work on paper. Included in the exhibition are: Maurizio Anzeri, Radcliffe Bailey, Sebastiaan Bremer, E.V. Day, Lesley Dill, Richard Galpin, Juan Genoves, Susy Gómez, Ja’Bagh Kaghado, Bradley McCallum & Jacqueline Tarry, Bruce Robbins, Jason Salavon, Doug & Mike Starn and Liu Wei. The show will open with a reception from six to eight in the evening on Thursday, June 23, 2011, and will be on view through July 22, at 545 West 25th Street.
