L: Vintage Helmut Lang trench with Rad Hourani heels. R: Margiela leather T-shirt
Last night I snapped some "sketches" for a fashion story I've been asked to style. Oddly, everything kept coming back to black leather, not ehhhh black leather but the really, good stuff...supple, sensual, soft...with that unmistakable scent that is so damn hedonistic. In my notes I gave myself the following instructions, "No S&M...no police hats...no 70's aviators...No studs...no sex shop leather gear...no bondage cliches. Just luxe leather as texture" A friend of mine, David played "fit model" for a few of the pieces, in this case a vintage leather Helmut Lang trench (the quality of which is in-saaaane) , those classic Rad Hourani heels and a Margiela leather T-shirt. Now to add some Haider Ackerman, Givenchy, Rick Owens, Balenciaga and Natalia Brilli and we have a narrative. Question is, having stripped it down to the essentials, now what? Well that's the non-verbal part of working that I love.
