I have been to the past 3 shows of Mr Hourani, and yes he's very talented, but I cant help but think he represents a generation that does not have much of an fashion reference point so to them what he's doing is new and cool? His clothes are riddled with HelmutLang/ Rick Owens Aesthetics. Why buy his clothes when you can purchase Rick Owens or wear your old Helmut? Maybe Im showing my age here, but I cant help but agree with some of the past commentors (albeit rude) but true... This might be a strange analogy but I cant help but remembering my last trip home for the Holidays and my little neices were all at home watching the Tyra Banks show and I wanted to watch Oprah so I asked to switch the channel and they all howled "we Love Tyra" and I just couldn't understand why? I find her nausiating and couldn't understand her appeal? well I love Oprah I responded. Then I thought to myself you know what Im getting old, and I guess thats how I feel when I see young designers like Rad, He is the Tyra of this Generation... I'll save my pennies for Rick!
Everyone has an opinion just like everyone has an asshole.
What I really don't understand is that why you kept attending his shows when you don't appreciate his aesthetic?
It does not make sense to me that you are a journalist that is writing on someone's else site instead of writing on your own website about a subjet that bothers you. I feel like you're a very ignorant person as you don't even see his main point of unisex timeless design. Not because he designs black graphic cloths, that it means it's Rick or Helmut. Ann Demeulemeester existed before Rick and Helmut and black graphic cloths have always been there. It depends on the way it's made and the design vision that comes with it. I don't see any piece from Rad Hourani that is a copy of someone's else work. Also, i have a feeling that you're one of these 400 people that got rejected at his last show as i'm sure that you need to get some culture or get a life!
Enough mama, remember this word
Rad is going far and yes he will sell those clothes to whom believe in his vision and creation but of course a person like you mama will never understand. have a good life
Because it doesn't bother me and it does Rad no harm. Your negativity makes no difference . You don't get to decide if Mr Hourani finds success or not. He does. I hope you will find the thing you love doing in your life .
Im saying this with L.O.V.E.
