Clifton giving electronic psychedilica PH Steven Chu via eastvillageboys.com
"I talk a lot - mostly because I have a lot to say. I do believe that people should be opinionated. I also believe people should be adequately informed about what they are talking about. More often people are not. Sad really."
Clifton
All the kids (and I mean informed kinds like eastvillage boys.com, Envoy Gallery and Steven Chu) have been buzzing about a New York performer called Clifton. For all the kaleidoscopic visuals Clifton is pushing the music is eclectic, electric, , conflicting, surprisingly pretty and strangely sexy. Its the more the kind of thing you'd get from strange English bands from Nothern cities in the 80's . Except that of course Clifton's vocal inflections are undeniably American. Viva experimentation and the creation of new hybrids. I'ma mess today and can't figure out how to upload the mp3 of a recent track, "Shine" but you can snatch a download at :

i loved the image u used of
i loved the image u used of the artist but the music doesnt yet live up to visuals,he is good enough but his songs lack complexity.i am listening to honeychild and the artist baron and thelonius london they are the new.great writing ,feet firmly planted in being real artist not scenesters.I think this artist is just the east villages idea of music which is any one with balls enough to stand up to the mike and doesnt mind getting paid in drink tickets.
HoneyChild, Baron and Thelonius LOndon...
I'll check them out. Don't be so quick to dismiss Clifton (though I give u props for a pretty arch read).
