AUGUSTE TOMASUITE: A MOMENT WORKED

Three quick points flashed through my head when I cut through fashionolgie's excellent early glimpse at Raf Simons Fall/Winter 2009 Jil Sander work.

1. Wow. An incredible, strong, unique SCULPTURAL collection that is wearable, collectible and eminently editorial.

2. Milan is overlapping with New York RE: casting choices for the first time in years (e.g Jil Sander opened by Women's Karolin )

3. Auguste certainly made an impression. Crying is the new "falling on the runway " but much more romantic a gesture .

Kas ir kodėl

leido tokiai jaunai mergaitei demonstruoti madas?! 14 metų vaikas turi sėdėti mokyklos suole, o ne podiumu vaikščioti! Tuo turėtų susidomėti Vaikų Teisių Apsaugos pareigūnai!

wow, i find that very

wow, i find that very beautiful

Kodėl

ir kas leido 14 metų vaikui demonstruoti madas? Šitokiame amžiuje tik mokyklos suole sėdėti, o ne podiumu vaikščioti! Tuo turėtų susirūpinti Vaikų Teisių Apsauga!

The real story....

I would love to know the real back story on this circumstance. None the less, it adds to the drama of the entire collection. I have never seen anything like it before. Like you said Wayne, its so sculptural. I feel like I see something new every time I look at it also. It is a very, very strong and empowering collection.

Sean.

they probably made her stand

they probably made her stand for several hours night and day , pulled at her hair , made her skin raw by taking makeup on

and off ,changing clothes in front of a room full of strangers and then being stared at by a group of people all night , who still

couldn't make up their minds until 3 in the morning. its probably her first season ,shes probably 17 and might not even speak

the same language, and all her agents probably scared her to death and told her how important this show was and im sure

the kid is homesick. just a made up story ,not this girl or designer per say , and anyway they usually cancel that girl in the morning of the show , she was difficult and looked tired .

She is 14... Ieva. Lithuania

She is 14...

Auguste

How many untrue things are written in these comments.
Auguste in person wants you all to know that yes it's her first season and yes it's a hard work but saying this the only reason why there were tears on her face is because of the incredible strong lights on the catwalk. So please don't make a huge thing our of a very simple and in these cases normal reason. And above all her mother was always with her to suupport and be next to her in every moment of her staying in Milan.

Nah.. she's 14 and crying

Nah.. she's 14 and crying cos she's starving.... (sarcasm)

Probably something totally unromantic like she's allergic to the makeup or something...

(apparently she is only 14 though)

totally agre with you, well

totally agre with you, well said.

she is only JUST 14.

maybe its becaue she just turned 14 and was petrified of walking in highheals on a runawy in front of 500 people. children should not be used to advertise womans clothes.

agree

and I'm beyond pissed that there was not one woman of color. effing bull.

exactly what is your problem

exactly what is your problem with the fact that there weren't any women of color walking for Jil Sander? the clothes look best on the women that are chosen to walk, thats why there are people who have jobs doing precisely that. what do you not understand here?

comment above

Hit it square on the head, Im sure. Poor kid

(real) tears?

wait a minute, are those tears real? i thought it's the make-up?!?!

real tears

pottery glaze

Taste is a dictatorship.
