WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?

The drama in the NY modeling industry just went massThe drama in the NY modeling industry just went mass

Who would have thought the New York modeling industry would be of such mass market fascination? From Portfolio.com's piece on models and their mothers, to the Wall Street Journal's fetish piece on show packages, quite abruptly the minute details of the modeling industry is being chronicled in this city's media platforms.
So what to make of the NY Post's Page Six Magazine "Stealing Beauty" expose by Rachel Syme? I woke up this morning to find emails and text messages desperate to sort out the identity of the piece's "Deep Throat". That I don't know (the Hiss squad is convinced it is a certain highly intelligent :idependent" agent) but I have to say his is an impressive gag reflex. The information, though very subjectively colored was certainly revealing. Some of the swipes are funny and others were not. The greatest piece of wisdom went to Elite's Lydia Hearst who opined “People swap agencies just as often as color palettes and silhouettes change on the runway. So Ford Modeling agency suing Next is unfortunate because everyone always ends up working with each other again. Everyone shares clients, so it’s important not to burn any bridges.”
Now what would have been a bombshell article is a revelation on all those private investment companies buying into the modeling industry.IMG... Ford...Wilhelmina...one wonders exactly what is the implications of a very unruly business being gobbled up by this flank of the corporate minded. If the latest piece of information that washed up on TI's shores via The Hiss Squad is true, then one of those hot shops freshly touted in that piece is about to gobbled up by another large investment firm. Is a possibility that all these warring factions are going to one day find themselves one big happy family? I for one am amused that all this drama has become a public commodity. The ugly business of beautiful women indeed....
Going back to the minute details of it all... there is the great Anna S mystery abrewing in the streets right now. Punters are guessing her absence from the NY runways thus far must mean one thing...a Calvin Klein exclusive. The Marc Jacobs tonight will tell no? And La Anna also has another cover looming. Her visage is amongst the multiple Inez and Vinoodh choices for the next V cover..You've seen Eniko's and Abbey Lee's street posters thereof I presume.
