Carole Bouquet's legendary beauty on display in "That Obscure Object Of Desire"
The great thing Bunuel's "That Obscure Object Of Desire" has to offer the fashion fanatic ranges from the sang froid of leading lady (No 1) Carole Bouquet to the perfect, perfect European 70's accessories toted by the lead and background characters in the films. Handbags, luggage, briefcases..it's all a luxury bag designer's wet dream. Boasting gorgeous colors , a mad plot (this film is probably my favorite on the subject of the sado-masochistic nature of desire if you insist on objectifying your loved one) and a surreal backdrop of random violence that makes the film feel even more contemporary this is haute-bourgeoise film-making at its best. I mean how better to describe the schizophrenia of projected desire by having two completely different actresses play the same woman, the self-same "Obscure Object Of Desire". Consumerism never seemed more nihilistic. Or chic.

ergh...another poor film choice and a bad write up! Why are only mediocre to bad films written about here, all the other entries in other fields are awesome - no more bad films please! umm...taste is a dictatorship?

his first movie with Dali is another hit !! the famous scene with the cut eyes thanks to the razor is iconic !! btw they should maybe make somethin similar in fashion no ?!!
