Toni/Women: The Only Calvin Klein SS 08 exclusive that counts

Did last night's Marc leave you hungover and as disheveled as the models on the catwalk? But how funny it is that the styling, hair and make-up of the Big Marc show really felt like Paul Rowland's imagery on the Supreme show package? Go look again at MDC. A chic little piece of synchronicity indeed, which means kids who didn't "get" the genius of that package understand why now. At my day job I've often times been accused of being a Rowland favortist. With a record 19 models in that Marc line up (IMG was 9, Women :7, One Mgmt: 4, Marilyn: 4, DNA: 3, ) perhaps that makes KCD and Jacobs Rowland favortists too. ...But that was only one show. The other 600 pound gorilla is today's Calvin. Sunday's NY Times, in its piece on the influence of stylist Karl Templer, held up a certain young German woman named "Tonne" as "the latest example of the Calvin Klein brand's penchant for using the hottest new models first." In a few hours Women's Toni Garrn saunters out onto the SS08 Calvin Klein catwalk as one of the exclusives of the cabine. And hers will probably be the only Calvin exclusive that matters (Think Irina K last season)...The reclusive casting director for Anna Sui certainly has a clear POV. Still in love with Agyness, who's looking more and more anime each day. Still faithfull to Missy and Trentini and full on in Denisa's endorsement. And that's the day job...going through every show and reading the tea leaves of who was cast and who was cast-off. Off to take a survey as to how many editorial stars emerge via the Arianne Phillips axis. I'm sure Roman Young at Elite will be enlightening in this regard.
