EX INFINITAS' SS 18 TRANSCULTURAL COOL

EX Infinitas - longversion V2 from The Image NYC on Vimeo.

Ex Infinitas SS18 sees a visual maturation of the brand, from the distinct Australian influences of the first two seasons, to a stripped back, polished proposition.

In praise of the Australian influence throughout the brand, designer Lukas Vincent studies the relationship between surfing, one of the brands signature codes, and its history with drugs. Here we are reminded of the transgressive underpinnings of Australian surfer lifestyle.

The vivid plastic hues of surfboard leg ropes and stickers, extreme Jamaican surfers and elements of classic Italian sartorialism inform this seasons color palette.

Fabric choices continue to be supported by a constant referral to art, selected from the finest heritage, “slow mills” of Italy.

Coiled surfboard leg ropes are transformed into neck belts and hanging adornments. A play on the founding date of the 1973 Bells Beach surf pro, sees a 2073 vision of a future surf pro, used
on beaten caps and printed onto garments.

Spring/Summer 2018 footwear is a collaboration with Finnish shoe designer Iivo Evijarvi, well known for his sustainable approach, creating a hybrid of discarded vintage sneakers.

Taste is a dictatorship.
